John Taylor: World's Fastest Guitarist

One way of getting attention for you or your band is through documented feats of remarkable musicianship, ideally record-setting musicianship. John Taylor, a music teacher from Colorado, holds the Guinness Book or World Records title of fastest guitarist for his rendition of Rimsky-Korsakov’s The Flight of the Bumblebee at 600 beats-per-second.

The video Taylor recorded of his attempt has earned 455,772 views, 1,574 likes, and 1,179 comments since it was uploaded on April 25, 2011. Perhaps more importantly than those numbers, though, is the earned media he got from accomplishing the feat, including a write up in Wired Magazine.
